The ministry of ecological environment and the national health and welfare commission have released the list of toxic and harmful air pollutants (2018), which is the first time that China has formulated and released the list at the national level.

A total of 11 categories of pollutants were included in the first list of toxic and harmful air pollutants, including dichloromethane, formaldehyde, trichloromethane, trichloroethylene, tetrachloroethylene, acetaldehyde, cadmium and its compounds, chromium and its compounds, mercury and its compounds, lead and its compounds, and arsenic and its compounds.
