Flight HU787 Haikou to Paris took off from Haikou Meilan International Airport with 35 tons of cargo at 1:30 am on 27 March, marking the official opening of the first scheduled intercontinental cargo route in Hainan Free Trade Port.

The route is a perennial cargo cooperation project jointly carried out by Hainan Airlines and Lenton Group, a subsidiary of France Post.

According to Liu Taolin, general manager of the flight department of Hainan Airlines, the flight will be operated by Boeing 787-9 aircraft and will last 13 hours each way, with a total of four flights returning two times a week. The outbound goods transported by this flight are mainly express e-commerce goods and general goods. In the future, Hainan Airlines will continue to expand the import and transport channels of duty-free goods, so as to provide fast cargo transport guarantee for cross-border e-commerce and duty-free goods.

Liu Taolin said that after the opening of the Haikou = Paris regular intercontinental freight route, the Yangtze River Delta, Pearl River Delta and other places will gather in Haikou, realizing the transfer and distribution of domestic and international goods in the Hainan Free Trade Port, opening up a new route for the trade between China and Europe, and further promoting the innovative development of foreign trade.

Gu Gang, Party secretary of HNA Group and head of the joint working group of HNA Group, said that HNA Group will continue to expand more high-quality international cargo routes to further facilitate international economic and trade exchanges at the ceremony held on the evening of March 26.
