According to the latest statistics released by the National Customs, China exported 2.43 million tons of chemical fertilizers in August, up 14.1% year-on-year and down 13.8% month-on-month. From January to August, China exported 17.39 million tons of chemical fertilizers, up 26.2% year-on-year.The total export amount was 4.85 billion US dollars, up 25% year-on-year.

Specifically, thanks to the urea bidding in India, the export of urea in China surged in August, with a total export of 658,000 tons, a year-on-year increase of 424.8%.From January to August, the total export was 2.549 million tons, up 254.9% year-on-year. The export volume of urea in the first eight months has exceeded that of the whole year of last year.

Thanks to the zero-tariff export policy, the export of potash fertilizer and NPK compound fertilizer continued to maintain high growth.In August, China exported 25,000 tons of potassium sulfate, up 2336.6% year-on-year. From January to August, the total export was 255,000 tons, with an increase of 94 times. China exported 14,000 tons of potassium chloride in August, up 614.4% year-on-year, and from January to August, China exported 141,000 tons in total, up 166.6% year-on-year. In August, China exported 99,000 tons of NPK compound fertilizer, up 109% year-on-year, totaled 573,000 tons from January to August, up 159.5% year-on-year.

However, exports of monoammonium phosphate, diammonium phosphate, ammonium sulfate and other products are poor. In August, China exported 190,000 tons of monoammonium phosphate, down 34.2% year-on-year. Exports of diammonium phosphate were 498,000 tons, down 27.7% year-on-year, and ammonium sulfate were 560,000 tons, down 13.2% year-on-year. Ammonium chloride for fertilizer usage exported 102,000 tons, down 35% year-on-year.

In terms of import, China imported 650,000 tons of chemical fertilizers in August, up 14% year-on-year. From January to August, China imported 8.19 million tons, up 23.4% year-on-year. Imports totaled $2.59 billion, up 41.2% year-on-year.
