In the january-february period, the added value of the chemical industry increased 3.7 percent year-on-year, up 1.7 percentage points, according to the NDRC's website.Among the major products, ethylene output reached 3.31 million tons, up by 8.9%.The output of primary plastic reached 14.17 million tons, up by 5.4%.The output of synthetic rubber was 940,000 tons, down 0.3 percent.The output of synthetic fiber reached 7.1 million tons, up 9.9%.The output of caustic soda reached 6.13 million tons, up 6.1 percent.Soda ash production was 4.15 million tons, down 4.0%.Fertilizer output was 8.34 million tons, up 4.3 percent.Nitrogen, phosphate and potash increased by 4.0%, 1.7% and 10.3% respectively.Pesticide output was 300,000 tons, down 14.2 percent.The output of rubber tire outer tire was 111.22 million, down 7.3%.Calcium carbide output was 4.42 million tons, up 2.0%.

Some of the key monitored chemicals have seen their prices fall.In February, the average price of caustic soda (caustic soda flakes) was 3,950 yuan/ton, down 2.5% from December last year and down 8.6% year-on-year.Soda ash's price was 1990yuan/ton, up 0.5% from December last year, up 5.9%.Urea's price was 1,950 yuan/ton, down 1.0% from December last year, down 3.0% year on year;2, 700 yuan/ton of domestic diammonium phosphate, up 0.4% from December last year, down 2.5% year on year.Calcium carbide's price was 2,650 yuan/ton, down 2.6% from December last year, down 6.7%.

From January to February, the profit of the chemical industry reached 48.8 billion yuan, down 28.0% year on year.Among them, the profit of fertilizer manufacturing industry reached 2.1 billion yuan, down 42.3%.
